Paint Kit

A paint kit is in development and will be completed soon. When completed, it will be uploaded to the X-Pilot download library. The paint kit will contain a variety of useful files, models and masks that should be suitable for livery painting.

Note that there are five X-Plane objects which make up the entirety of the exterior; however, two of the objects' UV layouts are combined into one Photoship file to make continuity of graphics between the fuselage objects easier to paint. This is only a preference and of course a skilled artist may do whatever makes things easiest for them.

We assume that those desiring to paint additional liveries are experienced Photoshop users and provide no tutorials or training. The UV layouts between the vertical stab and rudder, as well as the tip tanks are quite challenging to paint by hand and obtain good graphic alignment and so to assist would be livery artists, we also provide .FBX models that may be used to import into Blender or Adobe/Substance Painter. Keep an eye on the X-Pilot download forums for the paint kit within a week or two at the most.
